Our Mission

To make Canadian retirement rules easier to understand through free calculators, dated source notes, worked examples, and practical checklists.

Precision First

Our calculators state their assumptions and use published Canadian tax and benefit rules. They are estimates, not personal forecasts or professional advice.

Privacy Focused

Calculator inputs are processed in your browser where the tool allows it. We do not ask readers to submit personal financial records to use the public calculators.

Community Driven

Built for Canadian readers. Time-sensitive pages identify their source period so readers can verify current government rules before acting.

Our Story

SimRetire.ca was founded with a singular goal: to cut through the noise of the financial industry. We realized that most retirement calculators were either too simple to be useful or too complex to understand.

We set out to build the "Goldilocks" solution—powerful enough to handle CPP, OAS, and tax brackets, yet simple enough to use with your morning coffee.

We are an independent publishing and software project, not a bank, insurer, investment firm, accounting practice, law firm, or financial-planning practice. We use organizational attribution because we do not present fictional experts or unverified professional credentials.

Editorial Integrity

Source and date discipline

Reviewed guides cite official federal, provincial, or territorial sources and show an updated date. Older material is removed from search discovery until its claims are checked again.

Independent Research

Advertising does not determine our conclusions. We separate education from ads, disclose assumptions, correct errors, and direct personal tax, legal, medical, and financial decisions to qualified professionals.

Important: Educational Purposes OnlyThe calculators, projections, and guides provided on SimRetire.ca are for informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute certified financial planning, investment, or tax advice. Canadian tax laws and government benefits (like CPP/OAS) are subject to change. Always consult with a qualified financial advisor, accountant, or legal professional before making retirement decisions.
